Greetings....

Greetings from Eger, Hungary!
This summer has been a busy time for us, full of outreaches and camps and conferences. We'd like to quickly let you know about what God has been doing here in Eger during this time.

Church/Calvary Chapel Eger

One of the things that comes with this time of year is that fewer people are around in the church. Many students have been away for the summer, and many people in the church have been traveling. One of the highlights of the summer though, was that those who have stayed around have been serving with us in helping with outreaches. Two girls in particular, Judit and Kata, have been a big blessing; Kata's family lives in a village outside of Eger, but she moved to the city for the summer just to serve with the church! Our church had its first baptism in July! After the English Camp, Kata, who also helped there by teaching, was baptized (see photo below). Both the testimony and her baptism were very powerful for those who were there; many were moved emotionally, and one of the English Campers gave his life to the Lord right there on the spot. We will have another baptism next week, when Judit will be baptized at the Summer Conference in Vajta. It has been very exciting to see the fruit of our ministry here, as we see the impact in the lives of people as they commit their lives to God and serve Him. Our outreaches this summer included music and witnessing on the street with a team from Calvary San Jose, and a VBS on Creation that we organized in the building we rent for the Sunday services. From the VBS we made contact with a lot of kids, and many of them have come back, including some who come every week. We have about as many kids as adults on some Sundays! Our prayer is that through the kids coming, that we could reach their parents as well. Our next big outreach will be on October 4th, at the College building. We are organizing an Indian cultural program with the help of our Indian friends from Debrecen. There is a lot of interest in Eger about Hinduism and Eastern Religion; this is one of the centers of the Hare Krishna movement in Hungary. We would like to reach out to people who are interested in these things and share the Gospel with them through this.

Prayer Requests

• Praise God for what he is doing in the lives of people here.
• For God to anoint our October Outreach and those who speak at it. For people to come.
• For a new meeting place for our Wednesday night Bible study.
• Rosemary does the children's ministry in Hungarian, and wants prayer that her ability to communicate grows.
• For the friends and families of our church members to be saved (Kata's brother, Tünde's fiancé)
• For those who come around only rarely (Ede, Kinga, Böbe, Balázs)
• For unity among our team that is working here (Nick, Rosemary, April, Andi)
• For a great harvest of souls in Eger!
• For our marriage to be strong and built upon God and His Word
• For us to have the right focus and to love the people that God puts into our lives
• For protection from spiritual attacks and discouragement, especially on Sundays
• For Rosemary's hands and feet. Praise the Lord that she is doing better and has less pain.

Personal

We have been very busy, and very tired. We have been on the go from the time we get up until we go to bed. We never want to forget our priorities--that work never comes before our relationships with God or with one another. We were able to get away for a few days about a week ago and went to Slovakia to relax and look at medieval castles. We are also hoping to relax at the Vajta Conference next week. We will be in New York for 2 weeks in the beginning of September for the wedding of two of our friends. This also means that we will be in NYC on our first Wedding Anniversary! We're looking forward to that. Summertime is always busy with programs and extra things, like visitors. We have enjoyed the company of some old friends and students coming up from Debrecen. This is something we enjoy about living in such a nice town like Eger, that people are motivated to visit us!
